Terry Theise being "Groovey." The Wines of Austria

Grüner Veltliner - The last of the great European white-wine grapes. Unique. Adaptable. Food-loving, and delicious. Terry Theise "The Austrian wine scene is no longer mint, it doesnt have that new-car smell. Its settling in to what it actually is, showing its lines and creases, and what it will sustain. Also changing is that restless spirit of envelopepushing, and this is a very good thing. It might be fun to gun the motor and watch the rpms climb but sooner or later you have to cruise and then you want the motor to hum, not yell." Don't miss this episode when Terry takes us behind the scenes of the Austrian wine trade.

Lionello Marchesi

The philosopher entrepreneur. Thirty years ago, a successful industrialist decided to devote himself to his great passion: wine-growing. And so began a fascinating and complex story that culminated in the acquisition and valorization of three very important estates in Tuscany The purchase and restoration of an historic monastery (dating from 1000) at Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the heart of the Siena Chianti Classico area, saw the creation of a prestigious agricultural and residential complex, the present-day Castello di Monastero. Montalcino, the homeland of one of the most famous wines in the world, saw the acquisition and renovation of the Coldisole estate joined. Lastly, the foundation of Poggio alle Sughere in the Tuscan Maremma area. Production philosophy. Attention focuses on territory and grapes: the wines must be an expression of these two components and highlight there best aspects through attentive management of the vineyards, harvest, vinification and ageing.
